Holly Clark

Holly was born in Ottawa, Canada and raised in a small southwestern Ontario town. At an early age she demonstrated a love of music and an unusual aptitude to sing a song after hearing it just a few times. Her childhood ballet, piano and voice lessons were the early building blocks that produced the timeless, original performer she has become today.
Her strong, sultry voice and expansive range create the moving performances her audience has come to love. Holly’s gripping stage presence involves the crowd intimately, as she puts her heart and soul into every note. Like a good hostess looking after her guests, Holly loves to connect and interact with the people who come to her shows. To anyone who’s ever seen her sing, it’s obvious that her true love is for live performance.
Holly’s formal education in music began at Hamilton’s Mohawk College in the Applied Music Program. During these years Holly was privileged to study jazz and voice with outstanding faculty members Nick Deutsch, Greg Bush, Mike Malone and Dave McMurdo. She then went on to study privately under the instruction of Bob Hamper, Carol McCartney, Shannon Gunn, Bonnie Brett, Ranee Lee, and the renowned Norma Winstone.
Highlights in her musical career include a feature performance at the sold out Canadian Jazz Divas concert at Hamilton Place Convention Centre, and a feature performance at the 2004 Toronto International Downtown Jazz Festival, where Holly was one of the summer’s hottest attractions. She maintains a busy performance schedule singing at clubs, bars, and corporate functions, and can be seen regularly at many of Toronto’s most popular jazz haunts, including The Rex, Whistler’s, Momo’s, and Gate 403.
The past year of 2005 marked the beginning of Holly’s international performance career. She enjoyed a highly successful three-month contract at one of Hong Kong’s finest five-star hotels, the Kowloon Shangri-La. She entertained a full house each night and received rave reviews from all who attended her performances.
Holly’s beautiful voice, engaging live show, and passion for singing keep people coming back for more. She’s all class with a touch of sass – a rising star in the hot, cool, exciting world of jazz music. Don’t miss her…
