Johnny Griffith is a Toronto-based freelance saxophone/woodwind specialist and educator.

Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba and raised in Toronto, Johnny has been a force on the Canadian music scene for the past decade. He has proven to be as versatile as he is talented, adept in a diverse range of styles, from mainstream and contemporary jazz, latin and pop, to hip hop. Johnny has toured extensively across Canada, the United States and Europe and has performed at all the major Canadian jazz and music festivals as well as many international festivals, including the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. In 2006 Johnny received a Juno nomination for his work with the EMI/Blue Note recording artists the Pocket Dwellers. With the Pocket Dwellers, Johnny has shared the stage with the likes of Maceo Parker, Charlie Hunter, The Wailers, The Roots, Wide Mouth Mason, Sloan, Treble Charger, Fishbone, Kardinal Offishal, Rahzell and Prozac.

Johnny’s newest project, the Griffith-Hiltz Trio, features Nathan Hiltz on guitar and bass pedals and Sly Juhas on drums.
