Jonathan Lindhorst is a Berlin based Canadian saxophonist and composer who is not only an active member of the Berlin jazz and free improvised music scene, but also plays regularly in New York and in Canada. In addition to co-leading a Berlin/UK project with London bassist Huw V Williams, Constantly Moving Happiness Machines, he is a member of Hover Trout, Fake Noise, FeedForward, Innocent When you Dream: The Music of Tom Waits, The Berlin Soundpainting Orchestra, and various other Berlin based collective projects.  He has also appeared on numerous recordings and in 2016 debuted as a leader and with his album “Limerence”.

Lindhorst has performed in numerous venues and festivals throughout North American and Europe, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, The Montreux Jazz Fest, and the L’OFF Festival de Jazz de Montreal, and alongside such great international musicians as Christine Jensen, Anne Mette Iversen, Tobias Meinhart, Phil Donkin, Sebastien Ammann, Dan Peter Sundland, Aaron Shragge, Alexander Maksymiw, and Peter Van Huffel.

“At the same time original, dynamic, soothing and tinged with cheerfulness, the modern jazz of Jonathan Lindhorst takes you on an attractive and even touching journey. Well done!” (Pierre Dulieu, Dragonjazz)

-“Jonathan Lindhorst …find(s) a lyrical intensity not often heard on the tenor saxophone. At a time when many players still struggle with overcoming the chops laden post bop school, every note Lindhorst plays sounds thoughtful and well considered” (Steve Sladkowsi, Spontaneous Combustion)
