As a music director, Michael has worked on shows across the Greater Toronto area, including productions with Sheridan College and Hart House Theatre. His passion for the performing arts carries through all aspects of his work, as he strives to create expressive, dramatic and dynamic musical experiences.

During his time at the University of Toronto, he studied with the likes of Chase Sanborn, Terry Promane and Jim Lewis. He has also participated in various workshops and intensives, including the Ottawa Youth Jazz Summit and the inaugural Jazz Musician Intensive with the TD Toronto Jazz Festival. His debut album, First Birthday, is inspired by the Canadian wilderness and memories from his youth.

Currently, Michael is developing a new musical with Benjamin Monts entitled Trying: A Song Cycle, which follows six characters in their twenties navigating adulthood and defining for themselves when growing up happens. He continues to work as a freelance musician and music producer, most recently having collaborated with Holly Clausius on her debut full length album, Rose Garden, and with Big Smoke Brass on their upcoming EP, Bass Camp.
