Jamie Reynolds bio:
Jamie Reynolds is a 27 year old pianist. Born and raised in Toronto, Jamie lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife, Melissa, and their cat, Chloe.
Jamie performs regularly with some of the top musicians in the city, at venues such as the Jazz Standard, Birdland, the Blue Note, Cornelia St. Cafe, and 55 Bar, and has played all over the U.S.A., Canada, the Caribbean, and once in Oslo, Norway, where he also recorded at Rainbow Studios.
Jamie has been a student of the Canadian pianist David Braid, and has also studied with Fred Hersch and Craig Taborn on grants from the Canada Council for the Arts.
He is currently involved in a number of projects, including the Melissa Stylianou Group, the Mark Rapp Group, Falls, Out To Lunch, the Rob Scheps Core-tet, and the Wendy Gilles Band, and also occasionally leads his own groups.
Jamie has attended the Banff Centre jazz workshops, and has been an artist-in-residence at the Hambidge Center in northern Georgia.
Jamie plays jazz, classical, pop, and improvised music, and spends a lot of time reading books and cooking. He is on the faculty of the 92nd St. Y in Manhattan.
