Brittany Pitt is a Toronto based saxophonist, composer and improvisor. She has studied with some notable musicians including, John Johnson, Tara Davidson, Kelly Jefferson, Andrew Downing, Mike Murley, Bob Shields, Jason Logue, Joel Frahm and Dave Young.
After completing a Bachelors Degree at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, Brittany has gone on to perform in numerous venues across Toronto, including the Tranzac Club, Sellers and Newel, The Jazz Bistro and the Emmet Ray, playing with musicians such as Laura Swankey, Ashley Urquhart, Dan Pitt, Harry Vetro, Simone Baron, Caleb Klager, Ethan Ardelli, Stefan Hegerat, Devin Patten, Robert Diack and Alex Fournier.
Drawing inspiration from the European jazz scene, Brittany has formed a new band, entitled Reverie, consisting of Brittany on saxophone and effects, Dan Pitt on guitar and effects, Caleb Klager on electric bass and effects, and Stefan Hegerat on drums. Reverie blends influences from European groups ADHD and Slowly Rolling Camera, and North American modern jazz musicians Donny McCaslin and Terri Lyne Carrington, to create and play thought provoking, creative and adventurous original music.
