TORONTO’S KING OF JAZZ: Long Live The Rex!
Rex is the latin word for ‘King’ and we certainly like to live up to that translation. We at The Rex do everything in our power to make sure our venue is the King of Live Jazz Performance in the city. We’re very grateful to have won NOW MAGAZINE’s Reader’s Choice award for Toronto’s Best Jazz/Blues Bar. While it is truly an honour to receive this recognition, we aim to continue serving our community the best live jazz & blues in Toronto until we are the #1 Jazz Venue in the country!
This award has motivated us to do a deep dive in remembering how many different sources consider us to be among the top Jazz Venues around. We have been nominated for and won Now Magazine’s Reader’s Choice for Best Jazz/Blues Bar in Toronto several times, the most recent being in 2019. This is also the case with Downbeat Magazine’s listing of “Great Jazz Venue” which we received again in 2020. We are proud to be featured on an abundance of listicles boasting the best atmosphere and quality of performances, among other attributes.
